2005 190 x 168 cm Acyrlic on canvas
In 2004, I took part in a show called ‘Material’. A young curator called Alex Hoda staged a show in the former Sierra Leone Embassy in Portland Place, London W1.
During 1991 and 2002, there was a lot of unrest in Sierra Leone, which was resolved by UN and British forces disarming 17,000 militia and rebels. Possibly due to this, the Sierra Leone Embassy relocated from this luxurious ‘period building’ designed by the Adam brothers circa 1750, to Eagle Street in Holborn WC1. |
