Bangkok is infamous for its pollution. Dusty Relief poses the dichotomy of the contemporary art museum’s hygiene pathology vs. the toxicity of the city’s air. The result is a building that ‘breeds dust’ on its electromagnetic skin whilst, inside, curators are provided with their pristine white galleries. In between the two is a species of semi-encrusted area that traverses the dirt taboo.
